My daughter got two nominations for the Naval Academy this year but got a place at NAPS. Will she need new nominations next year for Naval Academy next year or do her current nominations still count?
Thanks

Nominations will not carry over from year to year. Nothing is ever 100% guaranteed when it comes to the nomination process but, historically, MOCs look very favorably upon (re)applications from NAPS midshipmen.

This link has info for last year, and will probably update soon. All kinds of primary source info is packed into USNA.edu.

Source: google search string “USNA NAPS re-applicants”

She will have to re-apply to all nominations sources she is eligible for. She will be required to start the nom application process before she reports to NAPs, so she'll want to contact her MOCs and find out what is required. Some MOCs have a streamlined reapp process for NAPsters. Once at NAPs, any applications she didn't complete, she'll complete at NAPs. If she gets it all done prior to leaving for NAPs she'll be ahead of the game.

.
Our daughter is assigned to NAPS this year, and we had her call our Rep and 2 senator offices several weeks back …. It is much simpler this time for her. They just require the application to be completed with Essays, and send in the completed HS transcripts … They told her that they can reuse last years' recommendation letters.
.
And if the kid is Ok with their SAT/ACT, they don't have to resubmit it …. she did really well on the one she took, so no need to resubmit.

Once she gets to NAPS she will have to reapply for ALL nominations that she qualifies for. They will do the interview by phone, some used FaceTime. If they don’t get one from their representative, Napsters will get one from SecNav, if they qualify to move onto USNA.

Just to expand, that's only true if she applies to ALL noms she is qualified for. That includes the VP nom, the 2 Senators, the Representative, and any other that applies (eg Presidential). SO it's a sure thing if she successfully completes NAPS, but it does require some effort on her part regarding noms.
