We just got the bad news too: "We are sorry, you were not selected for a scholarship. You will receive a letter explaining other options available to you."Unfortunately DS just got the bad news. The update below appeared in his portal within the last 10 minutes.
Selection Status We are sorry, you were not selected for a scholarship. You will receive a letter explaining other options available to you.
Congratulations!!!!OMG! now really lost. One of my ds NROTC school choices just sent him an email saying he needs to pay his deposit TONIGHT or else his spot in his program will be given up! How can they do this??
Well- now I understand. DS not awarded scholarship. Congrats to all, and best of luck. Plan B becomes Plan A-great option!!
Uh, I don't think we generally congratulate people when their kids don't win the scholarship.Congratulations!!!!
Iām sorry to hear the news for your DS ... Iām afraid that is coming for our DS too (but he works until 5pm today so wonāt know until after then) but Iām so glad your DS is ready to go as a Programmer! Our DS is on the same boat - ready to kick things off as a Programmer & likes the battalion/Mids a lot for the college he selected. There were stats posted on another thread on success rates for 2 & 3 yr NROTC scholarships - I like their chances! The %s were really high. And, I think it will drive them even more next year - theyāll be laser focused to show them!! Good luck to your DS!Yeah, pretty somber day getting the same disappointing news after waiting since October. DS is still very positive and already has his schedule of classes for his first choice school and will do the college programmer option. Unit is very supportive and already has met all the mids so he is very excited. Hopefully will have a chance to compete for 3 year sideload.
It has said that for us from the beginning. Every time.Is anybody else having problems loading the application status site? We were using IE, as required, for months and now it says it's not a secure site?? https://netfocus.netc.navy.mil/nrotc/candidate_app/status_scholarship.aspx
Many thanks in advance for help or assistance.
So where have you gone to check the application status? Crazy that we've been able to use IE for months and now in the final days it's no longer secure and can't access. It has said that for us from the beginning. Every time.
Thank you and best of luck to your DS. That is very promising and the instructors at his ROTC unit mentioned the chances were good as well. He is highly driven even more so now to make it. Good luck to all!!!Iām sorry to hear the news for your DS ... You may need to install the DoD certificates. Go here and follow the instructions. That should work, I think. It has said that for us from the beginning. Every time.
My apologies if my congrats came across wrong. I was happy that another plan was in place and was a great option.Uh, I don't think we generally congratulate people when their kids don't win the scholarship.
I'm just so proud of all the young people so committed to serving our great nation. The dedication and determination they show even in the face of "no thank you," is inspiring. It will be so fun to see what becomes of all of these magnificent leaders in the years to come. Best of luck to all who are still waiting to hear.My DS received a no as well. Heās still going to his #1 school and will start as a college programmer. I told him to kick a$$ and hopefully heāll earn a 3 yr next year.
Congrats to those whoāve earned a scholarship! Be proud of that accomplishment.
OK, that makes sense. Carry on!My apologies if my congrats came across wrong. I was happy that another plan was in place and was a great option.
