NSI - support for parents

Does anyone know if there is a program for the graduation and where the families stand? From the NSI2 graduation looks like an elevated platform.

We went through this back in June. There's no program that will be available beforehand. You'll be in a parade hall that will resemble two basketball gyms placed end to end. There will be bleachers along one side and it will be pretty clear where the parents/visitors sit. The challenging part will be knowing WHERE to sit so that you can see your DS/DD's company march in and stand post. When you check in at the base NEX to pick up your tickets, they should tell you which company your DS/DD is in. Then, when you get into the parade hall, there will be signs that display company designations to let them know where to line up. There will also be Navy personnel on hand that you can ask to confirm.

I will also say this: unless your DS/DD is either on the front row of their company or they are one of the few individuals to be recognized with an award, you likely won't be able to find them - they all look alike...which is part of the purpose. At the end of the ceremony, they'll be dismissed and that will be pretty chaotic. My advice: stay in the bleachers...he/she will spot you and come running. Then you can go with them to meet the MIDN that they bonded with. 😉

Thank you for the words of wisdom.. the excitement and anxiety are building!
