My son has been NWL pool since March but nothing to heard from west point. we still waiting for it. but i’m curious about how many people or % get appointment from NWL. Any one have information about is?
Mid to high 4000s get Nominations. Up to the high 2,000s of candidate pool eventually get 3Qd. About 1,300 offers go out to fill a class of about 1,250 for R Day. A little over 1k offers have already gone out, with many of the "accepts" to still come in as we get closer to the 1 May deadline. Quite a few of the 3Q pool are being rejected or marked as Qualified Non-Select. Hang in there. Lots will happen right after the 15 April Medical deadline. My son has been the NWL pool since March but nothing to heard from west point. we still waiting for it. but i’m curious about how many people or % get appointment from NWL. The NWL is not a wait list similar to a civilian college wait list. It would more appropriately be called the "National List of Qualified Candidates."My son has been the NWL pool since March but nothing to heard from west point. we still waiting for it. but i’m curious about how many people or % get appointment from NWL. I am on WPFF and have been close to WP and other college admissions stuff for about 40 years. Still learning new things, but try of offer advice on this forum when I can.Thank you for this detailed information. It sounds like you might have inside information or very good sources. In any event, I am curious why about another 300 offers are still waiting to go out. Is that because WP is waiting for others to decline? Also, for the unlucky folks put in the 3Q Qualified Non-Select bin, have applicants started receiving notifications? Again, thank you for taking the time so share this information.
It's great to hear from someone with direct knowledge who can speak with specificity and authority. Thank you for offering advice (and for your 40 years of college admissions "stuff"). If you know and are able to say, or even it it's just an educated guess, has WP already extended offers to the top 150 on the NWL?I am on WPFF and have been close to WP and other college admissions stuff for about 40 years. Many offers still have not gone out because Admissions is waiting for Medicals to get completed (15 April deadline) on candidates with strong profiles and Whole Candidate Scores. Also, the teams and committees that work on all this cannot do it all at once, so that is why you do not see WP or other service academies drop all their offers the same day like at typical colleges. Yes, QNSd candidates are being notified as they work up from the bottom of the 3Q pool. I started seeing QNSd candidates since early February right after the 31 Jan file completion deadline.

Most likely they did. Remember, others are still getting 3Qd too as Medicals get completed/resolved and waivers get processed. It's great to hear from someone with direct knowledge who can speak with specificity and authority. Anywhere from 150 to 400. Hang tight! Most appointments are made in April! My son has been the NWL pool since March but nothing to heard from west point. we still waiting for it. but i’m curious about how many people or % get appointment from NWL. Any one have information about is?
Somewhere in the 1200 to 1300 range are offered appointments. Also, how many kids are usually offered appointments to West Point each year? Thank you again!!
You may not be notified by May 1. Proceed with other college plans. If you get an appointment, withdraw acceptance at other school and ask for deposit back. Explain that you are going to a service academy - no guarantee, but many colleges will refund deposit. Will I know by May 1 what my situation is though, because West Point is by far my top choice, but college deposits are also due that day, and I do not want to mess up the other options. Also, if you do not get into West Point do you definitely get a letter of rejection, or do they just never tell you and leave you wondering? Thank you for the information, I am fine with waiting, however there are other colleges that need to know by May 1, and need a physical deposit of money as well. Thank you for any help in advance!
