Off campus uniform wear

So I was watching these stolen valor videos, and was also wondering if I will get busted wearing my proper rotc abu in public when I do not get the chance to change, and what should I do if I do get stop by a veteran????
 
First of all, so I can put my answer in context, are you an AS100 cadet at a AFROTC host institution?
 
Okay, I will assume you are a freshman, AS100 and have not yet gotten the lay of the land from your detachment.

The basic premise is this:

1.4 - No uniforms issued to cadets until you are eligible.
3.3 - You are required to wear your uniform one full day a week during MIL-LAB and PT. Other times are subject to your commander's orders.
3.3.1 You are allowed to wear your ABU's for casual dining near campus but NOT bars/saloons. You can also make a quick stop in ABU's for gas or convenience stores. but NOT for extended periods of time. Your detachment commander can offer more specific guidelines as needed.
3.4.1 - Travel in ABU or FDU's on military aircraft between military installations is okay.
3.4.2 - Do NOT travel commercial in uniform of any kind unless specifically ordered to.
3.5 - NEVER wear the uniform any where or doing anything that will discredit the military.

The rest of the document is essentially HOW to wear the uniform, including tags and insignia.

Also, stop watching the videos with stolen valor nonsense. You are going to end up paranoid.

I don't know the answer either. It's been six years since I wore a uniform and I never did ROTC.

Looks like you got some clarity above though.
 
I tried to soften my old uniform in summer camp but I messed it up, and that uniform just gets worse every time I wash it
