Official USAFA Class of 2016 Appointment thread

Congratulations and great work everybody! You all have accomplished much and have much to be thankful for! :thumb:
 
Did the Board meet this past week?

Just curious, it seems pretty quiet. Nothing recent posted on the appointment thread, and not much on this one either. I guess we'll wait 'til next week. I expected to see the appointment thread light up this week but didn't, neither did USNA appointment thread. The USNA appointment thread is far "busier" than USAFA, but they really haven't had much this week either.:confused:
 
It is only Friday morning I would suspect that if it light ups it will start this afternoon.

Also, typically on this site about 10% of all appointments are members here, so the pool size is small.
 
Same, I have a feeling that someone will probably hear back from USAFA about an appointment today, but just a few. I think next week will be OUR week! :thumb:

I hope that you are right and next week is YOUR week. We are expecting early to mid April since DS is a Falcon and they were told that they are last in line to hear this year.

I do agree with you, Blackbird I bet my avatar, our dog Myrtle that your child will have positive news.

3/22 would make sense because at the beginning of the yr Flieger and CC, both ALO's stated that the bulk would be later this yr due to the smaller size. Yrs prior the bulk went out between the 8th -15th. Using that as a guideline it would seem 2 weeks later is logical.

I was just wondering if, because from what I understand the board only meets when classes are in session, if they met this week (due to Spring Break). I wouldn't be so curious if the other SA's appointment threads were posting appointments, but from what I'm seeing they aren't.
 
^^^USAFA's Spring break doesn't start until LMD next Friday. They have Recognition training for the C/O 2015, started last night and will go through Saturday ending with the run to the rock and then their banquet.
 
I don't follow USNA or USMA, but remember AFA this yr is going to be the smallest in recent yrs.

Every yr they build a jigsaw puzzle without knowing what the picture will look like while they build it...think a snowstorm puzzle. Reducing the class size is like going from a 750 piece puzzle to 1000 piece. It takes more time.

Every candidate is a puzzle piece, and those with 3,4,5 noms can impact because there will be others with 1 or 2 noms. Move that 1 nom candidate will impact the 3 nom which can impact the 2 nom which impacts the next 1 nom....etc.

Their goal is to have the best class, but they have the WCS and that is an issue.

It is not just highest WCS on the slate, because as I stated the candidate could have it on 3 slates, and now it is which slate to charge. Each decision will cause a ripple reaction.

1050 when you have 3K with noms is not easy.

I didn't play any sports in high school and got my appointment in February. If you go back in the thread, someone said they've sent about 35% of the appointments out, so there are a lot left to go out.
