Operation BFE Complete!!

BFE arrived today. It was hanging out of the mailbox in the rain when DD got back from working out. ( No damage). We made her wait till my wife and I got home to open it. Smiles and Cold Chills all around. Phone call -Jan 8th. BFE -Jan 16th. Tonight we can finally sleep.

Glad it wasn't a water-logged mess - that would cause whiplash, from thrilled to bummed in less than a minute!

Let us know what that peaceful night's sleep is like...:rolleyes:
 
That moment of your dd opening that BFE with her parents? Never to be forgotten, few like it in life!

Congrats! DS got his a couple of weeks ago. He was checking everyday! He knew he was granted medical waivers and was in, but you never relax until that blue binder arrives. It will make a nice centerpiece at graduation open-house! See you at I-Day!

It's get better,when you son or daughter are sworn in on I-Day. The moment of silence during the ceremony and then the Thunder of Blue Angels flying over head and the Commandant tells you that the pilots flying those planes were all Naval Academy graduates. You will get a cold chill up your spine.

My son told me afterwards, "Dad that is the moment that I knew that I was somewhere very uniquely special & sacred to our country"

It's been several years but I still remember that day. It was a damn good day!

Enjoy the ride as this is just the beginning of a very unique experience for not just your DD but the entire family.

Thank you all for your kindness. I just completed I-Day reservations. I got close by so I will not have to drive around much--hopefully not at all. It is just a whirlwind of excitement. We met for an extended time with our BGO's this past Saturday and celebrated DD's good fortune.. LOA documents are complete and being mailed in the morning.
 
My S has an LOA and received word last week that our senator had nominated him to USNA.....About how long will it take to receive the bfe? I hope the hinges on our mailbox hold up!!
 
Letter of nomination was 12-24-2012--MoC phone call of FQ was on 1-8-13---BFE arrived on the 16th.

Part of the experience was the wearout of the hinges. I know that everyday that all 3 of us individually check the maibox eventhough we knew the other had checked.

In the end, the BFE was too big to fit complete in our box. Hence the it got some rain. No damage to the contents. Just pure joy.
