Well... this caught me by surprise.
Still not sure the PFT is a great measure of physical fitness but the 3 exercises (run, core, upper body strength) can be administered with big groups in an orderly fashion with a minimum of equipment so it is useful. I am in favor of the combat fitness test as a better indicator of overall physical fitness.
I have never done a plank but spent a lot of time in the "leaning rest position".
