Process to Accept Army ROTC Scholarship

My son learned Thursday that he has been offered an Army ROTC scholarship and that it may be applied to his first choice university. The official packet will arrive within the next 10 days.

He has also been accepted early decision to his first choice university. The deadline to make the deposit to secure his admissions spot is now...it's actually passed, but the Admissions Office extended the deadline until he received a decision from Army. They won't extend the deadline again.

The university he will be attending offers a ROTC Room & Board Scholarship. The only requirement is that the cadet\student must commit to the ROTC scholarship prior to making the admissions deposit.

So, how can my son expedite accepting his Army ROTC scholarship -- preferably doing so today -- so that he doesn't lose out on the university's room and board scholarship?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

A copy acceptance letter will be posted on the portal before it arrives by mail.
He can print it out, complete it, and the scan and email it back.
Beyond that......
Perhaps he could email the school a screen shot of his portal and explain he is moving as fact a he can.
He is not the first guy to get a scholarship, they know the process

I emailed my son's university with a screenshot from the portal, as stated above.

That is awesome! And +1 AJC, this is not their first rodeo, and it won't be the first time they have dealt with the Army's timelines. Just a heads up, last year, a letter was never uploaded to my daughter's portal and it took almost two weeks for it to get here. So sending a screenshot of the portal with winner and their school listed is perfect. Congratulations to your son and your family!

My DS was selected for a 4 Year Scholarship to his to 3 in state schools however he is waiting for word on an NROTC scholarship. When does he have to accept his ROTC scholarship? Will he be able to wait to find out if he is selected for the NROTC scholarship which could be in the March/April timeframe?

Maybe not, but not uncommon to accept and then decline later due to academy appointments or NROTC, AFROTC etc. Have him accept to where he would go if he went with the Army and then he has that in the bag in case he decides to use it. If he doesn't accept it he will lose that option. And it will be around the tenth of March, but the exact date will be in his letter.
