Questions, Chatter, Congrats for the 2026 USAFA Appointment Thread

Just curious, what did it look like on your portal when USAFA requested a waiver for you? I'm also in need of a waiver and wondering where to look.
Not sure if it's changed with the new system, but last year notification that a waiver had been requested was in the form of a letter in the USAFA portal.

There is no notification on the USAFA portal. Everything is on DoDMERB. It took some time until it went from under waiver review to need AMI. Once all that was complete, we got a letter from Randolph AFB noting the waiver through a docusign. This is their way of tracking receipt of notification. Two days later we got an email from USAFA Admissions stating "DoDMERB medical result for XXX" as the title. About this time, the DoD site changed to Waiver Granted. New my DS if 3Q and in the queue for the admissions committee determination as far as I can tell. Nothing ever changed on the USAFA candidate portal.

For me this year, nothing showed up in the portal in terms of a waiver notification. I instead received an email from USAFA Admissions and a link to an external website (DocuSign) where I was then able to view the waiver letter. Not sure why they didn't just use the portal, but it worked regardless.

Same for me here! Here is what my letter looked like, in case y'all are wondering:

Question if I finished my application is early feb would I get anything like say for March 20 like most of u guys?

Well, I finished mine by November 1st, 3Q and two Noms in December and nothing, I have to assume at this point I've been passed over, put a fork in me, I'm done.

Until you are told no, do not give up trying. They have lots of folks to evaluate and there are always folks who decline or have other issues at the last minute. I hear they sometimes have offers up to a couple of days before you are supposed to report. If you have the 3Qs and a nom, you are still in the hunt.

Same here! However, remember that the majority of appointments will be sent out around this time of year, regardless of when you submitted your application, so I wouldn't think of it like that. Hang in there and good luck!

Does anyone know if USAFA is/will host tours for appointees? There are regular visits for prospective students but wondering if there is anything specific for kids who have an appointment and not been able to visit the campus (recently).
Thank you!
Did you ever get a response to this?
