Hey,

I am an incoming plebe this year the USMA, and noticed a black box in the InstructionsForApplicantsOfferedAdmission.pdf. This box states:

"Every candidate is responsible formeeting the height and weight standards on RDay, without exception. Candidates who donot meet these standards are subject to immediate dismissal."

While my bodyfat is around 12%-17% I stand at 5' 10" 196lbs. This is outside army regulations of a max weight of 180lbs for that height. Before my apointment, I was granted an exception for this after submitting bodyfat measurement documentation during the application process, However this statement in the instructions booklet has me extremely worried. Help would be greatly appreciated if anyone has any information on this, or person I can contact.

Thank you in advance.

DS is in the same boat. During his medical exam, he was 5' 11" 127lb -- he was asked to submit body fat to West Point way before his appointment, that means -- he should be okay. So as long as you don't gain much more weight, you should be fine. I will ask my DS to eat double breakfast at DoubleTree to make sure he puts a bit more weight that day.

I have heard stories of cadets being sent home on I day. My DS, football and weightlifter in HS was just over when he went into USCGA. We were terrified. He made it in with no issues football players had a little leeway. Good luck!

Show up able to match or exceed your CFA video performance. Make sure your aerobic capacity can get you through a 2.5 mile run. You won't have any trouble. Congrats!

Lots of water right before stepping on the scale helps too. And then immediate bathroom break after the weigh-in

As long as you can make tape you'll be fine.

I cleared DODMERB in Sep. 2024 , showing as Medically Qualified on application. I completed Candidate Checklist this week which is showing up as received (green checkmarks). I just received an email that my height and weight is outside of Army standards. As per their height weight table I am almost in the middle of the range, I have been asked to get my body fat checked. What is it mean?

Same problem. It just says that this is the final determinant in acceptability, and they will contact me if I fail. I think I will pass, but what if I do not? Does anyone know any timeframe for this problem?
