Right. I don't think they were given the real scoop. There is a public answer and a private SOP. All in my humble opinion.

If I understand you correctly, you are speculating that the Admissions committee at WP publicly states the rules for picking appointees off of MOC slates, but behind closed doors, they do what they want - not because of any personal experience on your part, but because of a 'feeling?'
