I am reapplying to USAFA and I am afraid to open my application for 2025 because I do not want to have my application deadline early. Is USAFA still doing deadlines based on when you open the application?

I believe so, I turned mine in on March 1st and my due date is November 1st. I recommend opening it and getting started today so you don't have to worry about that date later on.

Don't hesitate because you're worried about deadlines and the current pandemic. Trust me they know it's an issue...they'll make it work for everyone.

I don’t understand. I opened mine as a reapplicant on July 1 and it still hasn’t launched the full application.

Do you mean it hasn't opened you as a "candidate" or ??

My only concern is that I will be attending The Citadel and I will not have a lot of free time especially in the first few months and I need to retake the ACT, but I cannot until October.

Same here - opened and completed the PCQ (for reapplicants) on July 1st and haven't yet been promoted to "candidate" phase. However, my application is "competitive" which (if I remember from last year) means that I should (maybe, hopefully) be released into the candidate phase soon...?

My DS was "Competitive" for a long time before it was changed to "Candidate" - he had used his Summer Seminar application to start it all (he was turned down for SS btw) We never knew what triggered the change, but it did change one day. He received a direct appointment. Don't worry too much about this. Work on what you can. Focus on your fitness, you ACT/SAT scores, your interview prep and essays along with Plan B.

Same. Anyone generally know how long this process usually takes?
They use rolling deadlines and everyone will have the same amount of time to submit their application. Don’t worry, you should be upgraded to “candidate” given that your portal currently states “competitive.” Focus on what you can do now like preparing for the CFA and taking the ACT/SAT
