Remaining NROTC Boards

So, it's been a while since I posted a tally of things. I don't have as many statistics as I normally do only because the boards have been so fluid things have been changing by the hour.

We are wrapping up our "India" board.....we started with Alpha so that's number 9.....

Once the results from India are tallied and approved by the Admiral, the emails will go out. Then we have the April boards. Those are focused on MSI and Boost, but there are some nursing applicants that straggled in as well.

From the Hotel Board, we are looking at 709 URL selectees.
We might see another 150 selectees from the current board, but that's a guess.

That will leave us with around 125-150 remaining to be offered.

The bottom line is there will be a decent-sized draw from the alternate pool. I asked how many and was told "a bunch". Not precise, but I would continue to have hope if you are on the alternate group.

I know none of this makes the wait easier, or enjoyable, but the process is working it's way.

Thanks everyone, I'll take a look at the facebook page and look for different zoom meetings. Definitely would also appreciate any links when you come across them. The problem is always time. He participated in a Corps zoom meeting this last week (focus on drill team I think) and it lasted 1 1/2 hours, he had so much homework before and after he was up till nearly one and he didn't have time for a run. We are planning a spring break trip mid April (spend time with family and beach time) and hopefully things will slow down a bit for him to get the research- that's where I like to think I help- point him in toward the best info instead of going down rabbit holes like I do.
Try this: tx.ag/corpsoutfits

I also think he's been about to get contact information from some of the cadets during the zooms. Might be helpful to talk to them one on one as well. (Typing this thinking, I need to encourage my own DS to research more!)

PM me and I can at least put you in contact with my Aggie son who is in a Navy/Marine outfit. I will ask if there is a list of recruiting contacts. Younger brother has been accepted to A&M but is waiting on applications at smaller schools and NROTC scholarship. He's visited Tulane, and he visits Miami OH and Vanderbilt over next 10 days. Any info on those outfits? Rice was his top choice and didn't get in. Thanks!

I tried to send a PM, but I just receive an error that I can't start a private conversation with you. Not sure why...

@SJBRX needs 5 posts still. Inbound/outbound PM requires 5 posts, a week as a member and time for system refresh.

Sir, everyone's application will be looked at by the conclusion of the last board right? I'm just starting to think more about it now since I submitted my application in late December and have not seen any updates on the portal since it was received by the board in early January. Any help or clarification is greatly appreciated and thank you sir in advance!

I would say that every application that was received and processed by NSTC will be looked at by the final board. Also sent you a PM.

Some time after the 18-22APR board has concluded, but I'm not sure if Alternate selections are included with those Board’s results.

Since February 9th the portal read: “Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination…” Monday or Tuesday it changed to a completely different status page with “the NTSC Selection/Placement office has received your application package” and “No decision has been made on your application”. Did he just get boarded? I had assumed the first portal information was the placeholder until a decision was made but with this change it makes me ask where he is at in the application process? Is this an indication he was made an alternate or will he be informed if that becomes the case?
I know that we are a month out before everything gets sorted out and we can be patient but I just want to understand the process and adjust expectations (and hope).

“No decision has been made on your application”. Means losely…
IF your DS is NOT a minority that applied under MSI and is competing for a “4 Year” High School Student Scholarship.
HAVE A PLAN B. Most likely your DS is an Alternate as is my DS under the Nurse Option Scholarship. PM Capt Meyers he may be able to pull your DS’ Alternate status.
There are quite a few recipients of NROTC Scholarships on this forum that are also waiting on a USNA Appointment and those Scholarships could “possibly” fall to Alternates. Be ready to scramble the last week of April and still keep your summer open for NSI.
