I just read that @blinkus (who started theirs) got their appointment to the Naval Acadmey after 52 days! This manifestation has also encouraged me to start my own.

For background, I have a JROTC nom and people from my state/ district are getting their appointments right now. I have a USAFA appointment already so that is my plan B. USNA is my first choice! I am really anxious so I am also starting this in hopes that I could walk a similar path as @blinkus. GO NAVY!

Day 2! I don’t think decisions will come out over the weekend so praying that today is the day!

As mentioned, having any nom, and not receiving a TWE yet, is a good thing.

But ........ you also have to remember that they can only "charge" 20 appointments to ROTC noms, so it is super competitive to be assigned that. Of course, just having a nom opens the door to flexibility on the Academy's part to use some of their discretionary ones to "charge" a person's appointment.

I keep seeing the “only 20” figure for ROTC noms.

For the class of 2027, there were 277 nominations received from the ROTC / JROTC nominating source.

Do you have a source other than these forums for the 20 figure?

Interesting to see that 25% of "Additional Appointees" do not need to have "Congressional" nominations. Given the context in which that fact is presented, I take it to mean they don't need an external nomination at all. Hence the unicorn appointees that receive an offer without having a known nom from any source. The "nomination" seems to be "we want you".

You aren't understanding that correctly. Yes, 25% of Additional Appointees do not have to have "Congressional" Nominations. They still DO need nominations though and many of them are the aforementioned NROTC/ROTC, Vice Presidential, Presidential, SecNav, etc.
Those are still nominations but not MOC Noms.

Thank you guys so much for the information and for those that are also waiting WE GOT THIS!

Day 4! Still haven’t got anything but hopefully it will come out next week!
