Anyone else get a letter in their portal that is titled "Request for Information." It is a letter illustrating all of the facets of the application and has an "x" next to any missing items and the only item that has an "x" is the one that reads "7th semester transcript due by 2/28"? Just seemed strange to mail out a letter indicating what was missing and the only thing indicated was something not even due yet.

My son got the same letter today too. No email that there was new correspondence but it was in his portal when he went in it today.

Was the submission method defined? Is there a link going out to the school?

Be happy you’re still in the ring fighting for an appointment. Meet all deadlines, (beat all deadlines) and provide what is asked. That is a good letter to receive. It isn’t a TWE.

I got the same letter a few weeks ago, is it a good sign? Why?

I would say the only extent that you would reasonably see it as a good sign is that, at the very least, it is encouraging you to stay engaged and keep on top of your application. The thought being if your file was not promising to them, there would be more likelihood that you would not hear anything from them. That being said, that particular admissions rep could send that out to all applicants.

Bottom line, I am not reading too much into it in terms of odds of acceptance, I just thought it odd to tell someone to stay on top of an item that isn't due for over two months.

My point was that it isn’t a decline letter. Anything that keeps you moving forward and completes a quality application is a good thing. The rest is out of your hands.

I got that too and submitted what was missing and will request the transcript soon. End of year, I also received an email from director of admissions saying “you are among a select group of top national candidates and we look forward to considering you for admission”. Have you received this letter?

No. No email from director of admissions. That sounds promising.
