Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

Hey!!

Guess what!!

The DARK AGES are over, and everyone survived. Both of my guys said it was never a big deal for them. Seeing a parade, white fancy uniforms, magnolia and crabapple blooms, and tulips…dark ages are over 🙌!!

Almost plebes no more. These last few weeks will FLY BY!!

Kid said his guy didn't get to play. Cancelled due to weather. But got to dress up, had brunch, got to be in the limelight. So had fun!

Yup. We were in Bethesda and got whacked driving home with it. Told him to expect crappy weather before hand.

The forum members are indeed real humans.

DD and I then had an awesome shared lunch at the Alley with perfect margaritas. The staff and food are always stellar.

On to the first spring parade. Then a special invite for an event on the yard that was really cool with our DS.

Spent the day in DC after a 6 am train, early birthday breakfast for me with my kiddos and excellent food and mimosas, 5.2 miles of scooters, coffee, monuments, National Zoo, massive thunderstorm that drenched us from the MLK memorial to the top third of the mall. Unlocked scooters and drive our soaked to the bone selves to Capitol Book Store. Then hit Union Station for the train back toward temp vacay casa.

Perfect day. DS and midsib are out in DTA now for the first time together. I’m holding down the couch. 26,000 steps and 5.2 miles of my first ‘scooter’ tour of DC in the books. I didn’t crash or die!!!!!

We missed each other by a day. Zoo, museums, mall for 25,000 steps on Friday with midsib including an experimental ebike ride on the way to dinner. Saturday morning mid store tuition payment during plebe pu then a visit to Navy Bagel for egg sandwiches. Managed to avoid Saturday downpour. Rounded out the weekend with a stop at Walgreens after Mother B drop off - finally saw the special backroom. Much larger than I anticipated!

BWI TSA line was really long this morning - wrapped all the way around the far end of the terminal. I have never experienced a TSA line that long, especially given the pre-dawn hour. Thought we would miss our flight but they brought out a dog to sniff all passengers once they reached the queue area, then passengers were fast tracked through standard metal detectors with shoes on and no items removed from bags. Interesting to see their pivot to address an unwieldy situation.
