University of Idaho offers a $5000 credit towards room and board for all ROTC scholarship cadets renewable each year they choose to live on campus.
What schools did you apply for? Some ROTC scholarships offer free or discounted room and board through the schools. Most of the schools I applied to for the Army ROTC scholarship offered the free room and board incentive.

I understand GWU's $8k scholarship only applies to Engineering majors. $4k for others.I've mentioned this before. George Washington's room and board is about $13,000 per year. ROTC scholarship recipients receive an $8,000 discount. Paying only $5,000 per year for GWU is amazing!
What about the campus in Prescott AZ?Is it accurate based on prior posts that Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach campus offers some 4 year AROTC students Room and Board and tuition , while 4 year AFROTC or NROTC scholarship winners are not afforded the same? If you happen, to know, please advise. Thanks!
It's a little confusing as to what colleges offer free R&B, few colleges mention they offer free or discounted R&B on their ROTC websites. Other schools don't mention a word? Does anyone know if Boston U, Rice U, & U of Rochester are generous with their R&B scholarships?
Does anyone have any insight to NROTC scholarship coverage at Vanderbilt University? I saw some previous posts that indicated additional monies to assist with room and board costs. But that was from several years ago....
Thanks in advance.

My DD got a 4 year AROTC scholarship. One of the schools cadet command gave her as a choice was Vandy.
I am almost positive it was the Vandy ROO who called my DD and told her the school will throw in either $3000 or $6000 extra towards room and board for scholarship winners.
I bet if the school does that for AROTC scholarship winners, then they would also do for NROTC.
If it were me I would always call the bursars office or admissions to confirm that.Just found some info online that indicates room and board assistance of up to $6K.

It depends on the scholarship. Some scholarships have specific rules about how the funds can be used and others are quite liberal.Maybe this is a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere..... If you accept a 4YR AROTC Scholarship and your school DOES NOT provide room and board, can you use Pell Grants, Scholarship money, State Academic Awards money, or VA benefits to pay for room and board? I have seen the lists of colleges and the AROTC benefits they provide compiled on some of these threads, but none of them indicate if Room and Board is not fully paid, what other options are available beside student loans?
