SAT/ACT scores...are mine competitive!?

My SAT scores are 630 math, 650 verbal and 600 writing (1880 total). My ACT scores are 29 math, 29 science, 31 reading, 30 english (30 composite). Are these scores just good or are they great? my GPA is 3.5...how competitive is my overall PAR (GPA with test scores)?

Based on these numbers, you are right in the average range.

Your stats are better than approximately half the entering Class of 2011.

That should tell you.

Your numbers certainly look very competitive, but Luigi needs to learn the difference between average and median before making such statements as above.

For the most recent entering USAFA class, as reported by BusinessWeek magazine:

The AVERAGE SAT score was 1270.

The MEDIAN SAT score was 1264.

flyboy's SAT score is 1280. The USAFA median score is 1264.

So where is my error in stating that his stats are "better than approximately half the entering Class of 2011"?

AtlantaDad needs to understand what the word "approximately" means, and to learn what little difference 6 SAT points between "average and median" make before posting foolish accusations.

Really don't think they compile that. Curious as to why you want to know?

flyboy, I think they will take your ACT score because it translates into a 1340, which is higher than your SAT
