Sorry if this has been asked before, but am I required to have scheduled my interview or been in contact with my evaluator ALO on or before my deadline? My deadline is today, I have the entire list of forms complete, and have been in regular contact with my mentor ALO.
Thanks.

I think you are supposed to complete that before your deadline and your Evaluator ALO is supposed to turn it in before the deadline as well.

In my case, he reached out to me via email and we were able to set up a video call. Although if I were you, with today being your application date, I would reach out to your evaluator ALO as it shows proactiveness which is one of the things I have been told they look for.

Regards

No they don't. Think about it. If you get everything done the day of you could have to wait at least a day ( if not more like mine) to find out who it is. You can't reach out if you don't know and that's not on you. Now I believe they do have their own deadline to have an interview by but it's not your deadline.

So I’m good, you’re saying?

Thing is I don’t have one yet. Just submitted essays around 2 today and thought I was good for now Bc I received a letter from USAFA a few weeks ago saying I just had to be in touch with my ALO. Also I didn’t see interview listed under things required on the deadline so I didn’t think much of it.

Is interview on here? I didnt see it. Is this from the candidate booklet?

Copied and pasted from the candidate booklet. Interview is not on there anddd I'm betting the message you got was to reach out to your MENTOR ALO who is not the person doing the interview. You have to reach out to them some time in the proccess. It's recommend to reach outnto them before your interview for advice or because you need advice on medical which Normally shows up around the time you finish your application. Or at least that's my guess based on what everyone says on the forms and my experience.

I believe that your application deadline is for all the things you can control (CFA, LORs...) but the Evaluator ALO has its own deadline which is different from the one listed on your portal. I finished everything on my portal about 2 months before my deadline and when I got an email from my evaluator he said that he had to submit it before a specific date that was before the date originally posted on my portal.

Just received from my ALO:

If all your forms are submitted, you will get an evaluator ALO assigned soon. If your deadline is today, reach out to your Admissions team for an extension. It should not be a problem. Let me know if you don’t hear back from them.

I’m not really worried at this point. I reached out to admissions as my ALO recommended, prob too late to hear tonight. Nevertheless, I should be in good shape. Thanks for calming my nerves. 😄

I'll mention that my deadline was November 29th and my ALO interview was December 2nd. I didn't talk with my Evaluator ALO until the day after my deadline. If everything you can control is complete you should be fine.

Yeah, the day after my deadline everything is still fine.

Exactly. That is how it was in my case at least!

My DS just completed his application tuesday (pending medical). The evaluator just reached out to him this evening to schedule the interview. His due date is January 15th. Good luck!
