I received an email stating that my application "will be forwarded to the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board in the next two weeks."

Does this mean I was in one of the first waves? Also: did my application already go to my admissions officer + another officer to give the OK to send to the review board?
(I believe I read on this forum that this is the process however I'm not 100% sure)

If this was indeed one of the first waves, would I receive my decision before the April 1st deadline?

The waves are dependent on when you submitted your application. So if you submitted in October-November that's early compared to submiting the day of the deadline.

I believe that on the USCGA website there is a place where the admissions process is described...

Typically the earlier you submit the earlier you find out. Looking at last year's appiontment thread, everyone finds out what their final decision is before April 1 except for waitlist.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it doesn't necessarily matter in the end. My DS had an early application submission (Sept), and his application was reviewed in early November, but he only received notification on the very last day of notifications in December. I know this to be true of another applicant, as well. I, too, have tried to divine the tea leaves without success. I have not seen rhyme or reason for the notification process; some are early, some are much later. I hope you receive notice soon so you can make your college plans accordingly.

My DS received email on 1/12 stating his application was going under review. He received his offer to CGAS yesterday on Bears Den. He submitted app on 11/15. He was a recruited athlete.

The email said the application will be forwarded to the review board in the next two weeks. It didn't say it will be reviewed in the next two weeks. Even if it has been reviewed, it won't necessarily mean a decision is made. What seems to often occur is the strongest candidates are accepted when reviewed, the weakest candidates are rejected when reviewed, and a decision on the ones in the middle may be deferred until more applications have been reviewed and they decide who to offer an appointment to, and who to waitlist or reject. But don't get hung up on that two week timeline - you have no idea when your application is actually reviewed

No news is good news - you are still in the running. Waiting is hard, but be patient!
