So I saw a post in the naval academy thread that got me wondering. On the dodmerb application, when filling out past marijuana use I put down 2 times. I have been appointed, and looking at the drug section of security form 86 has got me nervous. I talked with some past friends that reminded me of 2 other instances where I used marijunaa (very small amounts that I have forgotten about over the years). My usage was back in 9th grade, so quite a while ago. My question is, since I'm going to be honest and put down 4 times on the sf86 form, will it raise flags when I previously put 2 times on the dodmerb form?

In the end what will trip you up is if 5 years from now the numbers change. Changing it now with the explanation early on will appear as a natural mistake, changing the number later on will open questions up of why the numbers changed years later.

I would. Or at least explain the discrepancy as you did here. Of course that's just my opinion and the decision is yours to make as you see fit.
But in all honesty, is 4 times usage 3 years ago Considered too many for a security clearance as an officer? I've been told that they don't care so much what you do as long as you are honest, but then I've also heard more than 2-3 times will disqualify you.
