My scores:
Basketball Throw: 63ft
Pull-ups: 13
Shuttle Run: 9.4s
Modified Sit-Ups: 81
Push-ups: 54
Mile Run: 6:08

Should I train for two more months and retake but risk delaying the completion of my application? Or are these scores good enough? Thanks for the advice in advance.

My understanding is you can take the CFA and send it in as many times as you want - so you can send these scores in and take another one in a month or two and send them in if they're better. I could be wrong but that's what I remember

My understanding from a briefing by a USMA admissions officer is that you can only submit your scores twice. If you submit your scores a first time, and they tell you that you failed, you only have more chance to submit a passing score. You don't have multiple chances. If you fail twice, then you're done.

Check your score against the averages: http://www.usma.edu/admissions/shared documents/cfa_instructions.pdf.

You want to try to get to the maximums or at least get above the averages.

If you know who your field force rep is, I"d encourage asking that person.
My son's FFR encouraged taking the CFA more than once (assuming that your scores will go up each time) as a way of showing WP that you are working to improve yourself in this area. My son took the CFA three times. He didn't fail any of those tests but just kept showing improvement. He's a cadet at WP, so I guess that was ok to do.

I think it is RC dependent on how many times they will let you retake.

@JLur i don't know what the rest of your application looks like, but since most of your scores are close to average or above, you are probably best to spend that two months don't test prep.

I would train and take it again, assuming you will improve the score. There is no harm in doing so, and there is a very decent likelihood that your scores will improve, and thus increase your chances at admission.

Currently your scores are in the overall average area. You don't want to be average. You want to be excellent in every part of your application. Why wouldn't you try to improve ?

You need to attack the CFA like you attack the ACT/SAT, class rank, leadership, and everything else.

Get permission from your RC to retake . My son did this after not being pleased with his scores at SLE. He passed but new he could do better. He trained all summer, joined the XC team and re took test in late September and knocked it out if the park(all except BB throw)..so much so that WP called his PhysEd instructor to verify the scores. You never know what can give you the edge over someone from your district or from the NWl. Son reports with the Class of 2010 on Monday. Good luck to all !

Thank you all so much for the advice. I retook the test today and got scores higher than all the averages.

My new scores..
69' bb throw
13 pull-ups
8.9s shuttle run
86 sit-ups
54 push-ups
6:15 mile
