Sideload Scholarships

Still waiting to hear for my DS if he earned a scholarship for NROTC MO, fingers crossed, he has moved on with plan c as the college required a deposit on 4/15
for dorms. I have to ask if you are rejected how do you find out? Email, portal, phone call?

Understanding that this thread is for sideload - I am pretty sure you are talking about the NROTC-MO Scholarship (4YR) - I think the advice and consensus is to call your Applications Coordinator, but aside from that - my guess is that your portal will update. In reviewing your previous post, you posted that your Ds's portal states the following:
1. Your application has been submitted
2. Your application has not been selected for scholarship
3. Your application has been submitted to the board for review

I am not a an expert on the portal, but I read this as you have not been selected for a scholarship. Maybe @kinnem can chime in on what the portal change is for candidates not selected. Hope you get closure soon. Good luck.

DS was notified (9 years ago) that he did NOT receive a scholarship via email. I would certainly check the portal thoroughly though as something may be there

I received a phone call from my MOI about it, I do not know if they send letters as I just found out I earned one today.

Congratulations! DS recieved no letter when he received his sideload, just verbal notification from the MOI.

Thank you! I remember being hell-bent on USNA but I honestly couldn't be happier with my ROTC unit, we're all like one big family and call each other brothers and sisters. I plan on making a post about earning it because it feels too good to be true after 4 years of failure and turndowns, I believe it would be beneficial for others who were in a similar situation I was.
