If the athlete is a recruited athlete and you are ranked higher on the slate you will get the Appointment. If they are ranked higher they will get the appointment. If the recruited athlete is a "blue chip" USNA can and will find a place for them if they are qualified. As Hoops mentioned there can be more than one appointment from a slate. Since the application process has closed there is nothing that can be done at this time. Best of luck to you.I’m sorry you feel that way. Wasn’t meant to be snarky, but having a recruited athlete 100% will not help the cause. I added the lol part so you would know I wasn’t being rude, but it had the opposite affect @ThePatternisFull

Why do you believe it wouldn't help? No one except the admissions boar knows the WCS of the candidates and their ranking on the respective slates. I know the waiting is extremely difficult for all who have not hear anything positive or negative. But as it has been said many times on theses forums if you have not received a TWE you still have a chance. I am telling my candidates to keep the faith. Plus have a solid plan B, C , D and F.If the athlete is a recruited athlete and you are ranked higher on the slate you will get the Appointment. Thank you. What I was originally intending to say is that I couldn’t think of an instance where it would help you to have a recruited athlete on your slate. It probably wouldn’t affect the applicant, but I know it wouldn’t help me

I just couldn’t think of an instance where a recruited athlete on a slate could help the other memebers of the slate. It would just make the slate more competitive to have someone the academy wants for sports

This statement doesn’t even make sense. No one, athlete or not, “helps” other members on a slate. Everyone competes their best.
BTW, I have a ton of respect for athletes that compete for the academy. Big time.
I think this was the answer I was looking for in my poorly worded OP. It sounds like the most qualified person would win the slate and if they have to figure out the recruited afterwards they do - vs awarding the slate to the athlete (assuming he is not really the highest WCS) and trying to figure out what to do with the most qualified candidate. I certainly understand the point of just put you best foot forward and focus on what you can control. If the athlete is a recruited athlete and you are ranked higher on the slate you will get the Appointment. To a newbie, the structure of limiting MOCs to 5 slots per SA makes situations like this complicated.
