Bandathlete157, congratulations on being accepted!!!! I too have been denied from the USAFA Summer Seminar. However, I would likely not have been able to attend anyway. SLE in my first choice by far, and I have been anxiously checking my emails every few hours since I first heard they were sending out acceptance emails. I applied January 16th. Just out of curiosity, what are your stats that you put on your application??
I'll give it to you, I actually got a kick out of the idea that I would regard my stats as a "National Secret" because a) they're not spectacular and b) I'm not a prig. I am perfectly comfortable with sharing the scholastic, athletic, and extracurricular achievements that I provided on my application, but as it remains my information I will only make it available as I see fit. I am not about posting a laundry list of my application information on a public forum, but I am not trying to withhold it from someone who wants to message me privately about it. Thank you.Thousand of posts in regards to "stats" are all over this forum...I don't believe your stats are a National Secret. I think "Frere00" is just trying to get a stare and compare to see how he stacks up and what his chances are.
Hi everyone,
I just opened up my email and was thrilled to see that I have been offered to attend Summer Leadership Experience at West Point. Having been denied from USAFA Summer Seminar this Monday, I am very eager to accept the offer to attend SLE. However, I have not yet heard back from the Naval Academy regarding NASS, which I applied to on Janurary 2oth. Because the Naval Academy is my first choice, I would choose NASS over SLE if I were fortunate enough to receive an offer to attend. West Point is requiring that all registration and payment be submitted by March 10th, which is less than one month away. Should I continue to hold out until, say, March 1st to hear from Navy, or should I go ahead and send in my registration forms and payment now? Thanks, and Good Luck to all still waiting to hear back!
My son got an SLE acceptance today! He called me and said it was for week "0." Does that mean a week will be assigned, or will they go by his initial preference? He is excited!

I think I was over qualified but who knows the exact formula they use to evaluate these applications.
Is this legitimate? If so, holy cow. But I have also heard that sometimes if they have a choice between someone who they think has always wanted to go to WP and it's their dream, and someone who doesn't know much about the school they will pick the person who doesn't know much. Their goal is to get people interested in West Point. At least that's what I've heard about on several occasions on this site. The stats I used for my SLE application:

It's safe to assume SAS29 is not one of the athletes in this selection, given that the youngest player was born in June of 1998, making him over 18 years old and ineligible for SLE. I would say SAS29 has played a little joke on everyone on this forum, and I sincerely hope he did not actually put this spurious information on his real application.
