SOUND OFF! RA Mail Stalkers/DoD"NERDS"

Class2010

It's okay, everone see's that I'm assuming. Just click on the middle option that says:
Continue to this website. We just checked my son's account, and there is still no change. Since DoDMERB is a government site, am I correct that they may not be working over the weekend; therefore, DoDMERB will have no changes over the weekend? Thanks, officer

officer,

I've always assumed that there would be no activity on Dodmerb on the weekends, but really not sure. In all the date changes we've had, none have ever occurred on a weekend. But, I still check, just in case there's a "late" Friday file from CGA that got uploaded overnight! Pathetic, right?

Officer, hang in there. Hopefully, you'll be drinking that champagne soon!

Thanks Fairwinds,

Wishing good news for you too. And no you're not pathetic to check on the weekends--just hopeful  -officer

I also check on the weekends, status did not change today but the date changed friday the 26th. Very frustrated! Daughter had her wisdom teeth out yesterday so she was not very with it last night.

We keep trying to log into DoDMERB but get this message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate.e " Anyone know what's up with that? The ARMY ROTC scholarship site tells us to log into DodMERB but we can't.

I kept having the same problem. The only way it didn't go to that screen is if I went to the privacy act page first.

I had done the same thing that officer suggested and selected the "continue" link. Then I began to panic and think I might have put my daughter's SS# on some fake site multiple times with all of my login trials and errors.
Can't check the credit report for two more weeks until her birthday! I'm sure it's fine. Just makes you wonder these days.

Hey! Wouldn't that be a great birthday present...A BIG FAT ENVELOPE!!! (March 17th..hint, hint )

Anyway...never did get the login issues fixed, but I called and they were gracious enough to tell me over the phone what the status is...and guess what!?! In Process.

That "security certificate" page, is a warning from your browser saying someone might be trying to mess with your computer on that page. It's a false warning though, because it's a government page so if anyone the government would be looking at your actions on that page.

It's usually easy to bypass that message by clicking an option on a browser or adding the security certificate.

Yes, I wouldn't worry about it because my son's NROTC log-in page said the same thing. He called and they said it was safe and to proceed. DoDMERB, I'm finding, is the same. No worries mate. -officer

Okay gang,

This is "our" month!! March is a great month for an appointment. Stay positive and check-in for support. I'll be thinkng good thoughts for us all. :thumb: -officer

I think you're right! Lots of good thoughts this month. :thumb: Although I'm still locked out of DoDMERB and can't access the status. They can't seem to figure out what's going on. So, I can't share the status checking anxiety. I just have to have the anxiety of not being able to check it.

Officer and lmchatt,

I like your enthusiasm! Needed your optimistic postings today. Don't know if it has been the rainy yucky weather or what, but this waiting is really getting to me. With every day that goes by, I feel like more and more spots are being filled and no appointment here! I'm starting to feel like time is running out and soon there will be none left.

I'm not even stalking the mailmanlady anymore, because it seems (this year anyway), Dodmerb has been the indicator. Today, I was patient and didn't even check Dodmerb until 2:30pm. No change!

I hope everyone keeps posting. At least this forum makes for some interesting reading while we wait. I've even started reading the Air Force and West Point forums (my son didn't even apply to those SAs), just because there always seems to be something new to be learned!

Good luck, all!

Fairwinds,

My daughter and I feel the same way! We check status, DoDMERB, and the AFROTC status page a whole lot more than is healthy for us. If appointments were based on how many times the status page was checked, she would be in!

I always read other academy threads, like this one! She's hoping for USAFA!

guardianvg,

Good luck to your daughter! I would like to believe that we are in the home stretch but it does not make the waiting any easier.

Fairwinds,

Hang in there the finish line is in sight! Remember we have come a long way since AIM applications last year. I cant wait for the high school soccer season to start I think that will help make the time go faster. We just need to get rid of the last 4 or 5 inches of snow.

There do seem to be days that are worse than others. When we look back and realize that the family has dedicated over a year (AIM included) to this process, it is hard to imagine the thought of them not getting in. BUT, it isn't over yet! There are still appointments to be made and any of us could find out any day now that our son or daughter is in!:shake::biggrin:

I just keep reminding myeslf that I want the very best for my daughter and everything happens for a reason.... appointment or no appointment.

DoDMERB on the other hand...I just don't have the same patience. I finally get logged in and what a shock!...I can't access the application information. I just don't get it. :bang:

For those waiting, I feel your pain. My son will graduate from the academy in a couple of months but he also attended AIM and applied EA to the academy and was deferred. We didn't hear anything until either the end of March/early April, when a phone call one morning changed his life. I remember the anxious feelings and the long, long wait. My best advice is to stay as busy as possible, which is easiest for those playing a spring sport or working, along with enjoying your senior year. It seemed like the week we stopped fretting so much about whether he would get in or not, that is when the appointment came! Good luck to all.

So I'm sitting here watching the Olympics and my d is on my laptop on the other couch. I look over and a confused smile comes over her face. "One of my AIM friends on facebook said congratulation on your appointment to the USNA". So I quickly explain the DoDNERd/DoDMERB process and congratulate her. Wife crying /all in disbelieve, including her. My 16 year old dog even got into the action.
To the young man that spilled the beans. Its OK don't sweat it. I don't know where you live!LOL

I'm so sorry! I'm on the forums every day and the first thread I looked at was the waiting thread and I saw youre post about her status changing to offer extended. I immediately had to congratulate her on facebook. If i would've known you were saving the secret I wouldnt have lol but I would of never assumed anybody could keep it in!!! congratulations again, I'm still waiting as I logg in DoDMERB 20000 times a day....

We've been locked out of DoDMERB again so I emailed again asking to have our password reset. I was told that my son is qualified and we've received the letter so we no longer need to have access to their database.

Oh how I wish that was our problem! :shake: I would love to think that they removed the info because the envelope is in the mail!!

I keep seeing all the posts about checking the status and I just about go crazy wishing I could see it. Hopefully they will get the issue fixed today. :help:

5 minutes later....

....deleting our DoDMERB account again. Can't try to create another account until after 4:00 today. :(

No changes on son's DoDMERB again today. Hey, does anybody remember the old Mervyn's commercial where the lady is tapping on the glass with her face smooshed up against the locked glass doors while she's tapping in a trance saying, "open--open--open"?

No further words necessary!

HA HA HA HA!!!! YES!!! I remember that commercial and it is so very appropriate.

Have a good day....hang tough my friend! :thumb:

Oh good Shellz, maybe it was just a California run commercial ( I'm a Newport Beach/Huntington Beach sandrat originally) I'm thinking with the snow storm and other stuff that is unusual this year, we might not hear until the end of March-Mid April just like they say. Thanks for your continued support -officer
