I'm currently in AROTC as an MS1. I was wondering what sports counted for the OML. I know it says varsity, club, and community, but what sports count exactly? What about things such as rowing club, rock climbing club, paintball club, etc.? These are all listed at my school as a sport. Thanks in advance.

Ask your instructors. There's also a separate EC section on the OML so if those things don't count towards sports, they'll count for something.

And I'm sure you've heard this a million times but the top two things you should put your energies on is grades and PT.

In the past Varsity Sports counted for more points then intramural and club sports. The intramural and club sports would count for points in the athletic portion of the OMS scoring sheet for each year.

And I'm sure you've heard this a million times but the top two things you should put your energies on is grades and PT.

While this was the mantra for almost ever, it seems now that just a good GPA won't be the big single plus it used to be. Since there will now be both a GRE type standard test and a standard test on all things ROTC, it seems the academics portion of the OMS will be more involved. Battalion OER's are now going to have a big effect on things as well if they are implemented. Still....get good grades, that's the first step.
