Interesting data on how tho vaccination effort is going in the Marines. Lower acceptance rate than I would have expected. https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/04/09/covid-nearly-40-of-marines-have-declined-the-vaccine/
Seriously? That kind of astounds me.I know a battalion commander calling people <dirty name > in his FB page for getting the vaccine.
Bootlicker?<dirty name >
He’s not a normal human.Seriously? That kind of astounds me.
That’s a technique.Trying to get them to get the required shots is also a challenge. My son declined. I know a battalion commander calling people <dirty name > in his FB page for getting the vaccine.
Gonna have to start monitoring Marine Corps times for report of said Battalion Commander being relieved for "failure of confidence in his ability to lead" or whatever the buzz word the Marines use for the exploding command pin. (The fact that a Battalion Commander even maintains a Facebook page astounds me)Trying to get them to get the required shots is also a challenge. My son declined. I agree. I just looked and he replaced it with a motivational message about preparing and not using the pandemic as an excuse, etc.Gonna have to start monitoring Marine Corps times for report of said Battalion Commander being relieved for "failure of confidence in his ability to lead" or whatever the buzz word the Marines use for the exploding command pin. The vaccine has nothing to do with the service academy appointments at this point. These are current Cadets who elected to get the vaccine.https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...-forty-percent-us-marines-decline/7173918002/
Another article confirmed the 40% number. I did not think it was true yesterday when I first saw it but I guess that it is. I am with a smaller company of 2000 employees but still fortune 500 and we had numbers come out this morning that 48% of our workforce will NOT take the vaccine under any/most circumstances. Looks like we are headed for some intense litigation in all sectors reference to this. After seeing these numbers I am very surprised 95% of west point cadets are ok with taking it? Or is this just a "I will do anything not to screw up my service academy appointment?"
I would assume their is a big divide along these lines. I work in a corporate office setting and we have 8 plants around the USA. It is our blue collar workers that appear to be very against the vaccine while us at corporate are probably more inclined to take the vaccine. At least that is what our surveys are telling us. That is kinda like a version of officer vs enlisted. At the moment it appears we could have a sticky situation this summer. People are very angry at us here at corporate. We are trying to explain that taking the vaccine is not mandatory but that it is recommended. But that is not how many of our workers are taking it. I am very interested to see how the military reacts to the push back.I wonder what the % are enlisted vs. commissioned? On another note.......My kid and most if not all of his closest SNA buds are getting or got it. Was not even an option for him (not available) until he went under Navy command in Milton. He for sure wanted his. Did not say one way or the other if he was voluntold.
Too late for my son. He already had his second Pfizer dose.Rumor has it that Navy medical has worked up an oral version of the vaccine and is partnering with the Crayola Corporation to
formulate the Marine Corp version of the COVID vaccine.
I always ask, was the SgtMaj asking if they wanted to die and live forever in the lore of the Corps, or charge into a sure death to defeat the enemy but cutting out any chance to live forever.Ha!
Sergeant Major Dan Daly might respond with "come on, you sons of *****es, do you want to live forever?"
