The application is open until April 14th so I assumed it would be after that unless they notify on a rolling basis. Mine is just a rising 9th grader so we are hoping but have another year.
One of her friends at SC didn't get into STEM last summer but then received a CVW invite this year (I think November).

A quick search of the threads reveals that last year notifications began late March, with most hearing back in April. ‘All applicants will be notified of their status by May 1’; what they don’t mention there is that your status may be ‘waitlisted’. That really doesn’t help when you have to book a flight to get there. I guess we’ll just have to cool our jets from now through April!

That is my concern. We are in North Texas, so trying to get a budget conscious flight at the last minute is difficult. Hopefully if she gets in, her grandpa who lives in Philadelphia will spring for the ticket since we can tack a visit to him on there. He likes any reason to go to Annapolis anyway. We also need to start thinking of advanced training for Sea Cadets, those dates come out soon as well. Oh and we have to fit marching band freshman camp in there somewhere!
I swear the get busier as they get older.

One of our cadets was accepted to session 3! Still waiting here. I hope we know either way soon. She has Freshman camp for band the same week. If we have to make arrangements to get her music, ect., it has to be soon.

My rising DS just got accepted Session 1. DD went 4 years ago and completely changed the course of her life! Amazing what a week can do.

Do you mind my asking in what way? Did she decide to attend USNA? We are not a military family but my husband contracts a lot for the military and living in San Antonio we have a lot of military friends. This whole process is foreign to me and my daughter is so excited and researching USNA as an option for college. I'm wondering if the experience will make her want to focus on USNA even more.

I'm hoping this will give mine a clear picture of whether she likes Annapolis or not. I know they don't get a great idea of being a mid, but we are also from Texas, which is very different from Maryland. I'm pretty sure my dd is one of only a few that applied from our district but TX-8 is super competitive (or so I've heard). I just keep telling her that this is a good primer for the wait that takes place during her senior year!

How does the district affect the process? Are they required to take from each? I am assuming San Antonio is highly competitive because of all the bases we have here.
