Good Afternoon Y'all,
I have been accepted to USMMA, but I am still awaiting an appointment with USNA. The final decisions come out on April 15th and it is April 6th now. I am a little stressed out about it and was wondering if I still have any chance now that the date of the final decision is coming up in nine days?
Thank You!

Nerves are normal. If you have not received a “TWE” thin white envelope saying politely you are a NO for this cycle, then you are still in it.

They don’t keep you hanging to be mean. They are arranging a 1200 piece puzzle based on congressional rules for appointments and seeking the best pieces that fit well together and are selected from the nominees based on their whole candidate scores.

It’s brutal to wait. I get that. A very tiny percentage find out in May, a single candidate or two might get a yes in June.

You have a great option with USMMA. That is awesome.
Hang in there. Regardless of which SA you attend, waiting and not knowing and plans changing last minute will become a daily occurrence. This is good practice.

Look at the past lists....there is still hope. I skipped looking at 2025 cause it was messed up (timing wise) big time due to the system launch, but the class of 2024 list here on the SAF, shows...

The lines deleted are people that added their names to the list late, but were appointed prior to April 15. That being said, yes a major part of the class will be formed by April 15, but there are still a few folks to go. Keep your chin up.

My DS received no notification until May of that year when he was placed on a WAITLIST and even then he didnt get the TWE notification until June. they explained that they were trying to find a spot for him in various lanes but could not. they told him to reapply the next cycle as soon as it opened, which he did, and he received an appointment the first week of Feb. in other words if you make it past April 15 with no TWE you still have a pretty good chance of eventually getting an appointment.

Silly question….. can you be in a SA and apply to get into another? Just curious, and since we are all waiting here i figured out to ask. I heard some, very very few, have moved from one academy to another if there was some one else at the other academy who wanted move academies.
This questions is of you are at one SA can you start a whoe process ask for nomination etc snd change academies??

While I am sure there are exceptions to the rule (just because there always are), the answer is a resounding NO, ast least among the 3 DOD Service Academies There have been several threads over the years discussing this , but the bottom line is the Service Academies will not cannabilize each other or waste resources on someone that is already in another Service Academy.

There are ways to cross -commission into another Service , but even this is extremely limited (exception being Kings Point, which provides an opportunity to commission in any branch ).

Thanks. You know how big the rumor mill
Is and for newbies we have to navigate the jungle of confusion. Thanks for the clarification. I would imagine that as you say the SA would not “steal” candidates etc
