Still in the game

Aw, Wompwomp, so sorry to hear that. I am a fatalist at heart and think all things happen for a reason. USC is amazing, it that where he is going? And, you get to see him whenever you want!!! Best of luck, friend.

That is a heart breaker wompwomp. Best wishes in college and USNA encourages reapplicants! Thanks for sharing..

wompwomp, I am here with you. Sorry about twe, I wish all the best to you and your family.

Wompwomp, we, too are very sorry to hear the TWE news. I've enjoyed reading your posts. You have a great sense of humor and have given us laughs during this stressful process. When our DS's and DD's experience this level of rejection, it is painful for the entire service academy community. Glad your DS has a great plan B. We wish your son the best!

I love this amazing, supportive group of people that have shared this journey with us.

You all are so amazing, thank you so much! As someone said before, Our plan B is at times God's plan A. We will go with that and carry on. And hey you can't be rid of me that easy, I have three younger kids, two of which really want to attend USNA. I will be praying for all of you and your journey. It's been fun sharing the ride. Thanks for the support. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Been watching this for a while. Couldn't get the courage to say anything until my daughter gets the appointment. BFE finally arrived today.

Our MoC called my daughter last week to let her know she got the appointment and that we will be receiving the BFE via USPS.

Maybe it's different for every MoC - so make sure your cell phones are charged up - and give the mailbox a break.

Congrats to all the appointees. For those going to Plan B - congratulations also because I know your sons and daughters are well deserving too - regardless of what school they go to.

Good luck to all.

Quick question about NROTC

So I am still holding out hope that there is a BFE headed my way, however, I have a question for those of you who have heard back about Nrotc scholarships. It seems like my application has been at the stage of "The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application" for decades now, yet it still says that no decision has been made on my application yet. How long did most of you have to wait before this status changed for you??

DS finished his NROTC app before Labor Day. Still waiting.....

USC

USC is a high powered college with a national reputation. It is one of our nation's leading private research universities. Los Angeles is one of America's leading cities. USC has an outstanding and very well organized Naval ROTC program to prepare a midshipman for duty in the Naval Service. USC is a great option for college.

NAHOPEFULL,

It's not going to help much but my son got the NROTC scholarship in mid January. He had both of his applications completed by the end of June. I'm sure you know this but the Academy board and NROTC board do their own thing. They communicate some information between each other but I think it is just basic information. Maybe someone with deeper insight can add in for this.

Good luck...

Taking a page out of Ex.BT.USN's handbook and saying it is now Sunday, there is no mail today, so I am going to spend the day snuggling my boy. Think we'll even sneak away from bathroom remodeling and go get a culver's hot fudge sundae!

Happy Sunday, everyone! :thumb:
