Still in the game

Sorry to all those who had TWE's arrive. No mail in NH today just more snow showers. The wait continues.
 
Sorry Dzall but sounds like you have a great plan in place. what state are you in?
 
So, so sorry to hear about the TWE's today. :frown: I am sure all of these kids will either succeed in Plan B, or reapply, get in, and succeed at USNA! You all are wonderful!

I know from a friend of mine whose son applied last year & didn't get in that his Admissions Counselor spent about 20 minutes with him on the phone talking to him about his file & what he needed to do to improve it (not that it was a long list; he just spent the time talking with him).

No TWE here today. Except a waitlist notification for civ school #1 (but luckily designated ROTC schol at school that had already accepted him). Thin envelopes are not nice.
 
Well somehow DS is still on the island. Our wait goes on but without some of my friends. Best of luck to everyone.

DS got TWE today as well. He also got his acceptance to VMI today too. Emotional afternoon. DS will now make Plan B Plan A and be a proud member of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. He does plan to reapply next year and so the rollercoaster ride will continue.
 
What a lousy day around here! Nest week is bound to bring some BFE's.

Smmtx. I'm with you except plan b is taking a back seat now to plan c and d. VMI and Texas. Not a problem if somehow we get in state rates. Otherwise may be an issue.
 
So sorry dguts18:frown: Keep the faith and another door will open with new opportunities.
 
Thanks again for all of the support. As someone said earlier... Other kids would be thrilled for our kids plan b,c,d and e as their plan a! It will all work out. :smile:
 
So sorry to read your post stressedoutwatingmom. My heart is heavy for all of these talented DSs and DDs. They will continue to amaze us not matter what path they follow. Best wishes to you.
 
I am beginning to feel guilty about still being on the island. We still wait in FL.
 
Tough day for sure. All the best to those who have to move on to plan b. I have a feeling we will be joining you shortly, I just wish plan b was a done deal (DS is also still waiting on NROTC). Plan c is in place, but not ideal.

our mail has still NOT arrived! I am ready to go out and hunt down the mailman. On such pins and needles today.
 
Every time I check in another TWE has arrived. To quote the Reverend Mother from the "Sound of Music" "when The Lord closes a door somewhere he opens a window". All of our DSs and DDs have many open windows. They should all hold their heads high with pride.

Do you know when NROTC scholarships will be announced (last date)?
 
We're still in the game, but with a heavy heart, knowing a lot of our forum friends have received the dreaded TWE. I want to say that having been there, done that, I can truthfully say I know your pain. It's Okay. It will turn out Okay for your DD and DS. They are resilient and successful young people who will make some lemonade with these lemons. They will find the path that works best for them. But it still hurts... at first.

NO GUILT ALLOWED! Be grateful, proud, and humble, if you like, but no guilt!!!!!

Even though we're out of it, I can't wait to see names on the list that I can say.... I got to go on this journey with them!
