I think what was meant that current NAPS and Foundation students have not received their appointments. Which is true. They usually are the last to hear. But USNA also knows the size of those classes and who is cutting it at this point, so they know within a dozen or so spots who will be attending or not.
"1300 appointments have been offered and they expect 1165 to accept"I think that's conjecture at this point, not fact e.g. I don't believe NAPS, Foundation and CPP candidates know there status yet nor that "all BFE's are out". It's the 3rd of April, not the 3rd of May or June.
Last year the saying was "our plan B is sometimes God's Plan A". Hoping that you and your DS will find comfort in that. His ways ARE higher than our ways! When our DS received a TWE we were heartbroken for him, but we later found that that extra year was a blessing in disguise. He was more mature and better prepared to handle the stress and rigors of academy life. Now that DD has her own extra year under her belt, we know the same will be true for her. The mids that enter with a year of college, NAPS, Foundation under their belt are many times better prepared for the academies. Your DS should be proud of all he has accomplished in completing this academy application process!TWE here in Maryland, yesterday. Scrambling and sad but looking for God's plan.
DS wasn't notified that he was added to Waitlist... BGO offered the information after we questioned him about DS's status earlier today.DS just emailed BGO, and she said she does not know the status of his application and only USNA through snail mail can tell him. She said the database does not tell status. We are definitely prepared for sad news, as it seems she would have been contacted if he were wait-listed.
So sorryTWE in NC
Honors sounds great! Good luck!!We are extinguishing our torch here in NC-01. Good luck to all! DS will be at NCSU studying Engineering. He found out he was accepted into the Honors program the same day he was notified he would not be receiving a BFE. So excited about what the future has in store for all these wonderful young men and women!
