Summer Seminar Results 2020

SS offers for both USNA and USAFA! Decision required for USNA by 3/4 (rec'd offer 2/24), and USAFA by 3/14 (rec'd offer 3/1). My portal status was "under consideration" for USAFA from the close of the app period until just yesterday, so I'm pretty sure you're still waiting to hear.

ok DD still hasn’t gotten a response for SS but she now has a 4th selection on her portal on that says access Application Class 2025... does that mean she is qualified to apply or do we still wait?

Mine says that also

Good luck to all who applied and are waiting. Son was selected. Not sure which session he will pick. I checked the portal yesterday at 2:30AM and it was down for maintenance. I am only familiar with Navy so this is all new to us.

Just a reminder to anyone waiting, my son did not receive an offer to summer solutions but he is currently a Doolie at the Academy. Very few of anyone he talks with regularly or is friends with didn’t get in SS either so don’t fret.

So if it says that it’s still pending does that mean I didn’t get in or they are still sending out acceptance

still nothing for DD under Summer Seminar BUT her applicationn portal now says COMPETITIVE.... now just need it to say CANDIDATE but it changed from pending to Competitive this morning!

I am waitlisted. Does anybody know about how many people are waitlisted or accepted from the waitlist?

Her status will probably change to candidate on July 1st.
Good luck!

My son got in! He can choose between the 2 sessions. He also was accepted to SLE. Any opinion on which one provides the best opportunity to experience what the day-to-day life at a military academy is like?

I went last summer during session II and I had an absolutely incredible experience. My assumption is that both sessions will give an equal opportunity to experience life, they want as many people to get the same experience as possible so I don’t think one session trumps the other. It depends on what you can do in regards to other summer plans, and correlating with any other summer seminar offers!

I believe the question was referring to which SA Summer Seminar is better, USAFA or USMA. If so, DS only had experience with USAFA. He said was really fun, but not a very good indicator of the cadet experience.

SLE will allow to take CFA and that could transfer to the SAs that use CFA. USAFA usually does not administer due to altitude unpreparedness.

Congratulations to all who got in. I still have not heard anything and it's unsettling. It sounds like acceptances have gone out, as well as notifications of wait list status. For people like me who haven't heard anything, I guess I did not make it, or is there perhaps another reason why some of us haven't heard anything yet.

To clarify, is the CFA administered at the Summer Seminar for USAFA? We thought it was, but then I see a note above that it isn't due to lack of time to adjust to the altitude. Any confirmation either way would be appreciated.

They had us do a "CFA Workshop" when we were there, but it was unlike USMA and USNA in that they don't actually administer a test according to the guidelines. So, long story short, no, unless they change the program this year.
