Summer Seminar Results 2020

Congratulations to all who got in. I still have not heard anything and it's unsettling. It sounds like acceptances have gone out, as well as notifications of wait list status. For people like me who haven't heard anything, I guess I did not make it, or is there perhaps another reason why some of us haven't heard anything yet.
I’m in the same boat as you, mine still says that it’s under consideration

They just sent out emails!!! Question, they want responses by March 15, but I’m also waiting to hear back from Navy. I can only chose one because my school doesn’t let out until right before the last session for both. Any advice on what to do?
Make a plan for both outcomes. Make a plan for what you would do if you were accepted to the NASS before the 15th, and another for if you are not.

My son got in! He can choose between the 2 sessions. He also was accepted to SLE. Any opinion on which one provides the best opportunity to experience what the day-to-day life at a military academy is like?
I'm wondering the same thing, I got accepted to NASS and AirForce summer seminar

Does anyone know the itinerary or workshops available at the USAFA summer seminar?

Who else here is also planning on going to Boy's State after?

Both are excellent opportunities!
From what I’ve heard on other threads is that SLE is the most rigorous. There is a lot more emphasis on physical fitness. In my opinion SLE is more we’ll rounded because every day will be a mix of PT, classes, touring the campus, dorm life, etc. While USAFA tends to break it up into individual days. So one day you may spend it exploring different programs and majors offered at the academy while the other you will experience what BCT is like. At SLE you will get to do the “classic army” stuff. Obstacle course, low crawl, explore different weapons systems, etc. They also tend to focus more on military bearing and discipline at SLE while at USAFA its more relaxed and will have more down time during summer seminar.

Both West Point and USAFA are two different environments due to their different focuses. You’d have to go to both to experience what the climate at each academy is like. Although, for the most part plebe year at a service academy will have a lot of similarities such as a packed day with no free time, lots of rules to follow, keeping everything neat and in squared away, etc. In my opinion, SLE will give you a more general idea of what military life is like.

Have your son watch YouTube videos of each to get an idea of which one he may like better

The first day you arrive is processing. The next day is Boot Camp Day, so basically you are given the proper basic cadet training situation with yelling and push ups. After that you do tours of the Air Field and gliders and the UAV facility. You visit most of the facilities there, have lectures, panels with cadets (Especially Gender Panels). There is a classes day where you visit classes and learn basic stuff. There was a sports day where it was CFA "Practice" which was just people doing sit ups and push ups but them not counting towards anything and actual team sports (Which you do not get to choose what you do.) The last full day is doing stuff to get ready to leave, an actual PT session, and visiting the last of the facilities. The last morning there you get everything returned and head to a final lecture about application stuff and after that you either head home with mom and dad or get on a bus to get to the Airport. I missed out of the yelling part last year due to my flight getting delayed, luckily I was sponsored by the Academy to go and visit the Academy so it didn't cost me a thing. It was an awesome experience though, good luck to all.

My daughter got not selected also. Is it worth it to email the admissions counselor and ask what she needs to improve?
