Current MS3 and I was wondering could a bad interview be offset by a high OML? I understand interviews are super important, but do branches take into account National OML heavily still?
Can’t speak for the military. But as a corporate exec for more than 20 years, who conducted countless interviews of experienced and inexperienced candidates, I can tell you that one bad interview can and will sink you no matter how glittering your resume may be. The best job-hunting advice I’ve ever received and given: Whatever amount of time you’re spending on interview prep, triple it!
Actions (live interviews) speak louder than words (paper credentials). Another way to look at it: Many candidates will have similar credentials (OML). So in-person interaction and impressions (interviews) become a critical differentiator.

Well, Master Sergeant ranking is not part of his OML score. The biggest factor on whether or not your son gets AD is how well he does on his branch interviews this Summer. Each branch rates cadets, and that influences whether they get selected. He should interview between 5 and 10 of them to increase his chances. The overall OML score is used mostly as a tiebreaker now. You are now able to get Active Duty regardless of OML score." - @MohawkArmyROTC
