Hello all,
For the NROTC scholarship, I am suppose to have my teachers and counselor send in evaluations for me for the NROTC. But they ask me what to look for in the emails. What do I say? Does it explicitly say "NROTC scholarship" or something else? Please advise, I am eager to complete this step and move onto the next step in the process.

I am competing for an AROTC Scholarship, and I just told my teachers/counselor to look for "ROTC", "AROTC", and "Cadet Command" (not sure what they're called for NROTC, however). Best of luck to you in this process! You'll do great.

An NROTC Scholarship Coordinator should have emailed you a copy of the Teacher's Recommendation form, which is kind of a spreadsheet the teacher fills out, checking off boxes, giving ratings ("On a scale of 1 to 10....") and such. Then you scan & email (never snail mail) back to the NROTC Scholarship Coordinator.

AROTC does not ask for or require letters of recommendation.
My bad, I was mixing up my applications! That was for a college app, rather. I didn't even realize my mistake until now. But I would think your counselor could still search for those key words and find the recc. forms.

Arotc still asked for a counselor recc. form directly from my counselor, however. That was required and my counselor still had to search those key words to find it in her email.

That counselor "form" is your counselor verifying your transcripts and activities. Not that same a letter of recommendation.

I applied electronically so it would be emailed directly to my teachers/counselor/coaches. They said that they have not seen any emails relating to the NROTC scholarship, which worries me because that is all I need for my whole application to be completed. What should I tell them to search up in the search bar of their email network?

Literally, anything starting with "NROTC" in all capitals, i.e. NROTC Officer Interview, NROTC Sou Form, NROTC Other Rec, etc.

Maybe it's our local recruiter (Eastern Massachusetts) rather than a systemic type of response.

I wish I could tell you more.

I hope I can be of help here. My daughter thought she submitted the entire NROTC application in August. Little did she know that she needed to get the recs in on her own- they do not get digitally sent to the names on the list. We have been working very hard to get all of the papers submitted before the end of the week so that she will have a chance of going before the first board. It has been stressful to say the least, and it is a pretty inefficient system to say the least. I have been scanning and sending the docs to the recruiter as they come in. Please be proactive and get on it- there is no electronic notification. Paper rules.

DS supplied email addresses in his NROTC online application. The teachers were contacted directly by NROTC via email, and they submitted their LORs online. Straightforward process.

Just curious to anyone, how long does it normally take after inputting your teachers info in references for them to get the email?

DS' teachers got theirs within a day I believe. But at least one of them had to look in their spam folder to find it.
