I just wanted to express my thanks to SAF and to all of the moderators and contributors to these forums. I believe I have been a lurker/member for close to 10 years ever since my 1st son expressed an interest in the military. I have learned so much about the Academies, ROTC, Dodmerb and other matters that helped me guide/advise my kids during their app process. Well 10 years later with two academy grads(USAFA & USMA) who are both pilots it is time to move on. I may “lurk” occasionally…😊

We hope you will continue to stick around and help answer a question or two every now and then.

This collective wealth of knowledge is what makes the Forum so effective at answering those "gray area" questions.

Congratulations!

I've mentioned more than once to @kinnem and @AROTC-dad that it would be nice to have a cohort of Junior Officers on the forum to answer questions and generally give a lay of the land to the soon to be commissioned and their parents--particularly as it concerns branching, billets, MOS's, duty stations, etc. The landscape always changes and information from the JO's would be fresher than what most posters can offer.

There used to be a poster, @-Bull- , in Army FA who gave colorful descriptions of what he was doing starting with FABOLC. I particularly enjoyed his descriptions of Lawton, OK.

Although I haven't posted much in a while, lately I've been checking in on SAF fairly often. I'm not sure how much "good info" I have to share as an LT, but I'd be happy to chat if folks have questions about junior CGO life. :)

I felt like I didn't have much to offer as a junior CGO - but frequently lurked as well.

Now as an almost Major (Major select) and heavily involved with the education side of the AF (I am an instructor - just not at USAFA...yet, we'll see) I find I might have a little more to add - although most of it is focused on good study habits...and how to be an AF nerd.

I'd bet there are a decent number of similar lurkers that would respond if asked - there just aren't actually that many post academy questions on here

@Casey is a valuable contributor who still lurks and has always been someone I appreciate still being here. Hopefully others and the OP stick around.
