just a little food for thought to new plebe parents. My DS who is a a new firstie(class of 2019 which is so hard to believe) is in Annapolis during an internship. He was lucky enough to make it to the swearing in ceremony on I-Day. He talked to me about how meaningful it was to witness the commitment once again from a “different” point of view. He said once the Bancroft doors were closed he saw the reaction from quite a few moms. His comment to me was “mom how did you make it through that night?” My response was “it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life but I knew it was what you wanted” I have no doubt his first night was not an easy one either. My point is...here he is as going into his firstie year and neither he nor I would change anything. I am stronger and so is he. I know the next 6 weeks are going to go by very slowly but I PROMISE the next 4 years are going to fly by. We are both praying for all of you.
