Those of Us Still Waiting

Should I take that as a bad sign though, because if they really wanted me you would think they would have requested it.

You only need to be requested once for DODMERB exam. All the academies and ROTC applicants use the same system. From what I understand, once CGA decides to give an offer of appointment, then they look to see if you have completed the exam. If you do not have any requested remedial and your status on DODMERB is qualified, there is nothing more you need to do or for them to request. Good luck in all your applications to all 3 of your choices!

Thank you! Unfourtantly I was rejected by West Point (my first choice) last week.

Have any of you been asked to take the DoDMERB examination?
Please understand that USCGA handles DoDMERB slightly differently than the other SA. Rather than pay to have every applicant run through the battery of testing, USCGA is selective and does this process closer to the end. In general, it is common to see a CONDITIONAL appointment offer go out to a candidate and is contingent on the student's ability to pass the medical exam or receive a waiver. Under the USCGA model, it is a GOOD thing to be asked for medical, but that typically comes AFTER an appointment offer. It is surprising to me that they other schools do not operate in the same manner to save $$ on testing of applicants they are not interested in.

This has not been my son's experience, and I know others have posted here in the same position. DODMETS referral done last November during EA, cleared DODMERB promptly, and still in a holding pattern with admissions.

This isn't quite accurate - many, many applicants are authorized for DODMERB exam shortly after applying. There is an initial screening that takes place to determine whether they are competitive candidates. Unless OBJEE speaks up on the process, we'll never know exactly how they work it.

This was our experience as well, DODMETS email within two weeks of submitted application. Many, many applicants experienced the same thing. Some don't get that email until much later in the process, who knows why. Others, and this is a statistical minority based on reports in this forum, don't receive their DODMETS email until after an appointment. Who knows why. Delaying a DODMETS review until that late in the game is bad for the appointee and bad for the Academy because it leaves very little time for remedials and waiver review.

My sons neither. His DODMERB was requested soon after he applied, it was lost which delayed matters but that is an entirely different issue.

Happy to be wrong on this one, this is what we were told by the admissions staff during a Cadet for a day experience last semester.

Check your spam again or sign in to your dodmet acct. not a bad sign. April 1 is coming. They are working hard!

Anyone else waiting for the email that said your/DS/DD application's would be reviewed in 2 weeks? At CFAD, admissions said they would send an email 2 weeks prior. DS hasn't received an email (he's checked his spam) no interview request either. Application submitted mid-November. I understand that not all accepted/appointed cadets have an interview, but was expecting an email. DS checked his Bear's Den site. That box is still unchecked.

This is our exact situation.

I got one around mid February but haven't heard anything since
