Please understand that USCGA handles DoDMERB slightly differently than the other SA. Rather than pay to have every applicant run through the battery of testing, USCGA is selective and does this process closer to the end. In general, it is common to see a CONDITIONAL appointment offer go out to a candidate and is contingent on the student's ability to pass the medical exam or receive a waiver. Under the USCGA model, it is a GOOD thing to be asked for medical, but that typically comes AFTER an appointment offer. It is surprising to me that they other schools do not operate in the same manner to save $$ on testing of applicants they are not interested in.
