My DS is a 2nd time candidate. Currently he is under the NROTC scholarship. The college he is attending did not send out his grades until after the xmas break which was Jan 6th. The only thing he needs to complete is the CFA. With classes this was not an easy task for him to complete, he was bumming. He takes the CFA tomorrow!

The deadline to get all complete is January 31st which he will meet. My thought is if he had to wait for his grades and the CFA this long does the timing hurt with decisions?

I don't think so. Like your son, I too am a college reapplicant. My school wouldn't even send my transcript for me - I had to use some website called National Student Clearinghouse (o_O ??) - had never even heard of it. Obviously as college students we are not able to get our grades until early/mid January. Mine were later that your kid's.

What's worrying me now is the fact the USNA has not received my transcript, despite it being sent on the 13th...USMMA received it but not USNA. I sent them an email today asking about it, but I'm getting worried now...things should not be handed in this close to the deadline :/

Mdn18, I wouldn't worry too much. Contact usna and see what they say about the transcript. I was worried about the same thing with West Point, but they said as long as I can prove it was sent in before the deadline I would have no issues.

Mdn18 I was in a similar situation and I called the admissions office and asked if they knew if it had been recieved or not. They told me that they keep them on a stack and that eventually someone comes through and updates all of them. About 20 minutes after I called my portal showed that my transcript had been recieved.

My DD was in a similar situation. Her university mailed her transcript on January 7th and it just appeared in her portal this afternoon. As long as your transcript is postmarked by January 31st, you are set. Good luck!

DS is also a college applicant. CFA was Tuesday. I was a little concerned it was so close to the deadline, but DS seems to have the process well in hand. I'm so hands-off this time around, I have no idea about transcripts -- I know he asked that they be sent to USNA. He says he's checking his portal "daily," so I figure he's solving whatever problems have popped up. I noticed a post last week that college applicants are receiving decisions (I'm assuming BFEs at this point). Maybe we'll all know sooner than last year?

Some NOMS just got submitted by MOC so don't overthink it. Good luck!

My son is a re-applicant also. His transcript was sent through the National Student Clearinghouse , his were sent on Jan 8th. We were concerned that they hadn't shown up last week. We called they said that they could take up to 3 weeks to process. They also said college re-applicants have a little bit of lei way with grades being there by the 31st. They told my son to email his Naval Adviser with the date it had been sent as a paper trail that it was on the way. His portal finally updated today, so nearly 3 weeks after it was sent. He had completed everything else by early Nov. He has 3 Noms , here's hoping this is his year.

Ok my RD sent me an email today saying that they have it! Says it was received today....even though they've likely had it for 2 weeks

Done deal... DS just called me CFA complete, application updated and showing 100% complete. If he get in it will be a tough choice, he really loves the unit he is with right now.
