Just curious if anyone has any recent experience with how long it takes to receive notification of scholarship status once the board has met. (for an Army ROTC scholarship). On the application website, it says it typically takes 10 to 14 days once the board has concluded to receive a notification. So the answer really is probably 10 to 14 days but wanted to see if anyone has perhaps heard sooner than this in the past.

It is a fairly accurate estimate. My students typically 'hear' in that timeframe. I do recall a few being later than this stated window, but I don't know of any reason behind the delay.

That is the usual amount of time to hear IF you were awarded a scholarship by that particular Board. If you were not awarded a scholarship, then you will be rolled into the next Board for another go at being awarded a scholarship. The point is you may end up waiting for the results of the final Board before you get a positive or negative decision.

My DD did hear sooner than in the posted 10-14 days.

I believe she heard the Thursday or Friday the week after the board was completed.

It depends on how the Commanding General, US Army Cadet Command and his staff handles it. Sometimes, he's away the following week and/or busy with other requirements, so he can't review the summary of results.

Sometimes, his staff may be busy with other stuff so they can't do what they need to do to tee up the board results for the CG. Maybe the Cadet Command lawyers are too busy too do their review, so they won't get to it right away.

The turn around time has been getting shorter over the last few years, but still depends on which board and what @GoCubbies said. I would tell you are going to drive yourself crazy worrying about things like that, that are out of your control. The first board doesn't even meet until October. It's a long process and patience is key.

DS heard about his 30 minutes before it showed up in his portal. Number 1 ROO sent an email congratulating the young men and women.

Put their best foot forward. The worst thing is checking the portal every 5 minutes. Easier said than done I know, but its truly a game of hurry up and wait.
