Today is the day: AFROTC EA Results

crayola,

Impulse illustrates how 1 bad semester can impact a cadets cgpa.

SFT as a 200 is only 3 semesters.

For everyone please realize that your cgpa, and AFOQT be part of your AFSC OML.

Your SFT ranking will play a factor in the CoC's rec when it comes to AFSC boards.

Like I said your PT score at SFT will be part of your ranking.

AFROTC is like building a home. The foundation needs to be strong. SFT is the foundation.

I just wanted to mention that the GPA isn't everything. The commander will see your progression as a cadet and rank you accordingly. So if your GPA is weak because of a bad semester (happened to me), then work hard to pull those other scores up. If you just made a mistake but make your other scores stand strong then your commander will appreciate that.

+1 Arnold86. a low cgpa because of one bad semester is different than 3 semesters of a low cgpa.

That being said. The cgpa is going to be a big impact for the AFSC board, so keep pushing it up, since that board is an OML. Some fields are very competitive. Pilot and Intel quickly come to mind.

As for CGPA the minimum to be in the afrotc is 2.5 ? Also if you go under 2.5 what may happen ?

You go on academic probation. Do it two times in a row, and you probably will be dis-enrolled.

I always thought if you were not on scholarship you could go to 2.0. Not saying that would be good, but ya.

I had the same thought ... Pi a did that change from a couple of years ago ? Where can I find some of that info ... Thank you by the way

That may be true, I just know for DS when he entered in 08 (scholarship) it was 2.0, but it changed somewhere along the line to 2.5, thus I assumed it was for all cadets. I think it happened spring 11. Additionally, as a 300 you are now contracted, thus it may be your 300 yr that it goes 2.5.

I really don't know. I just know 2.5 is scraping the bottom, and the fact is 2.0. 2.5, you are not in a good place, unless it was 1 semester fluke. They get that, but they don't get it 3, 4, 5 semesters in a row.

SFT is the 1st hurdle. The big one is 300 yr for rated, or 400 non-rated. It is OML. SFT is we have 2000 slots make it you go. AFSC is OML, your score matters, and part of it is cgpa.

Plus, I can't see a CoC ranking a cadet top 1/3, 2/3 with a cgpa of 2.0/2.5. Thus, you get bit 2x. cgpa and CR. The lower your score, the less chance of getting your 1st choice AFSC.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the "waiting list"/alternate list?

I would hope anyone placed on the wait list/alternate was briefed by the cadre on how it will work.

They actually were not to be honest, I would think the same thing. They were each met with individually and just told they were placed on a waiting list/alternate. That's one reason why I was asking how it would work because I thought someone on here may know.

My guess would be they will go OMLs, and maybe in blocks. I.E. number 1701-1750 on the list will be notified 1st. Than 1751-1800, so on so forth.

I guess that only because that is how they do AFSC boards...They have X amount of spots, and thus, the 1st on the OML list gets their number 1 pick, and so on and so forth down the line until they have no more spots.

how many go to field training

needed info as I am clueless sorry

Does all AFROTC get to go to field training?
How long in advanced will they find out that they are going?
Does all colleges get a few to send?
In order to go to field training are they required to take the AFOQT ?

thank you:)

You can find all of this through AFROTC.com. Anyway...

You must earn an Enrollment Allocation to go to Field Training. Not everyone gets to go. You must earn your slot to attend. It is required in order to continue.

You find out typically in the end of March. This year it was 20 days after that because of sequestration.

Every detachment sends cadets to Field Training. The slots aren't numbered by detachment. Instead, all second-year (AS200) cadets are put up for ranking amongst one another, racked-and-stacked.

You do not need to complete the AFOQT to attend Field Training. However, you must have completed the SAT or ACT otherwise. You will need to complet e the AFOQT (in any case) after Field Training in your AS300 year in order to go up for AFSC boards.
