For us, when our son received an appt to USMMA, the dodmerb site updated to “medical waiver granted.” For USNA, of which he was denied yesterday, the email they sent said “there would be no further review of his medical status.” So, this entire time for naval, dodmerb has said “pending waiver review”. Best wishes to you. I keep hearing if you made it this far, you were a strong candidate.

I get a kick out of the fact my DODMERB still says "Pending Waiver Submission/Review" for my C/O 2022 Application for USNA.

Yes, unfortunately. We knew it was coming, I just figured it would be late this week or possibly Monday.

DS got TWE yesterday evening. One door shuts, another opens...proud that he was in such good company and just going through the application process was a great experience for him and he's still got his sights on high goals. Best to everyone, wherever you go.
 
My DS received his TWE yesterday afternoon as well. We had prepped for the possibility (probability?!) and were even getting excited about Plan 2.0 (bought the t-shirts and everything!), but the actual denial email was still more of an emotional blow than I expected. Had some tears--I think the last 3-4 years of preparation kind of all came to a head in one single email--and I think once he processes, he will see that this is not necessarily a bad thing and that no matter what, he cannot go wrong with his plans moving forward. A "no" does not make him "less than." It may even make him a better leader because he'll understand what that disappointment is and can empathize with others. He may not realize it now, but this could be a blessing...
 
We too have been preparing but are keeping the hopes alive. Plan B already in place but felt weird doing so as it seemed like giving up.
Traveling to be with family and no matter what the outcome is, DS will be with family to celebrate or have many more to console him.

DS finally checked his email late last night. He had the dreaded TWE.

I'm proud of how hard my DD worked to make it this far in the process. She's going to Texas A&M to study Chemistry on a NROTC scholarship. Will reapply.
