My first post, I was wondering if anyone knew how does the transfer process work for current students who wish to attend USAFA?

There is no transfer of college credits, you start as a freshman. Basically you start afresh, the application process for someone coming directly from HS or college is basically the same.

Many college credits will transfer, but cadets must spend four years at the Academy and take at least 15 credit hours per semester. Many would probably pick up a second major.

Not true. Credit does not transfer from other schools to USAFA. All cadets start as plebes. Plebes can validate certain courses, based on requirements posted by USAFA. But that is not the same thing as transferring credit.

Uh, not to be too picky...

But there are no plebes at USAFA. First-year cadets are referred to as "Doolies."

Oh, you can be picky. I knew that but my fingers moved faster than my brain.

Some credits transfer directly depending on the school and course description, other classes/departments require validation tests even if you already have the college credit. It will allow you to take a much lighter load (the mentioned minimum 15) or if you want to get more out of USAFA, add a language minor or a double major. 15 credits is usually only 5 classes - most semesters, most cadets will have 6, but taking 7 or 8 can be done (not highly recommended though...still don't know what I was thinking)
