Hello, class of 2028 applicant. I recently received the honor to be my NJROTC unit's battalion (220 cadets total) executive officer. It is a large role, but am I able to update the USNA about this through an email? I am aware the official deadline has passed but want others' two cents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Son was instructed to have anything significant he wanted added to his completed application submitted by his guidance counselor. USNA would not accept documents directly from him.

They have most likely experienced fraudulent documents in the past, hence the requirement that they be forwarded by a guidance counselor using an official school email.

Understood, thank you for the advice!

I would also email my regional admissions director! They should have more information, and the person your guidance counselor is sending forms to.

Hi, congrats to you on achieving that position. I would suggest you email your admission counselor with the update. 100%.

During DS application cycle he continued to provide updates when he achieved a new role, award etc., worst case scenario it doesn’t help. Best case— it does.

It may need to be verified, but a letter from your JROTC command may suffice.

In the time that you spent posting this question to SAF, you could have sent the question to your USNA Admissions Counselor- they would have acknowledged the new information, and perhaps would have told you whether it will be added to your package or not. In either event, they know about it. Bottom line, SAF might have some good information, and can be entertaining, but you Candidates should always ask these questions to the person(s) that know -- the USNA Admissions Office.
