His week should be listed in his acceptance letter found in the portal (click "view decision letter"). Also in that letter is the link to the registration kit.My DS Accepted his slot in this summer's USAFA Summer Seminar a couple of weeks ago but hasn't heard anything about which week, payment etc etc. Did we miss something or has that info not been sent out yet?
Did he receive an email regarding the payment for the actual program? I have yet to get one so I was curious. My DS Accepted his slot in this summer's USAFA Summer Seminar a couple of weeks ago but hasn't heard anything about which week, payment etc etc. Did we miss something or has that info not been sent out yet?
Hello. I was wondering the same thing. My DS received the invitation and the registration packet. We know which Session he is in but we haven’t received additional information on payment collections. We don’t want to make a mistake and miss that information. Does anyone know when and how payments for the USAFA SS are made? Thank you.His week should be listed in his acceptance letter found in the portal (click "view decision letter"). Also in that letter is the link to the registration kit.
Last year payment by cashiers check sent via snail mail was required. All the information comes very slowly. The agenda for the week didn't arrive until a couple days prior to start. Be patient. Point of clarification; you'll be sending payment in the form of a cashiers check snail mail. Notification for payment from USAFA last year was via email about a month out from arrival date.We still have not received anything regarding payment. Glad to see we are not the only ones. MDRDV was kind enough to provide information that the payment information comes through snail mail, slowly. I will post when I receive something. Thank you.
Hi,DS will be declining the offer with reluctance. He was accepted into session 3 which is virtual and that overlaps with the USNA summer seminar. Since there are no other virtual sessions, then he is kind of stuck. What I have a problem with is when he selects the option to decline the offer, some of the following reasons pop up: “there aren’t enough people like me at USAFA,” “I will attend a more prestigious university,” “other schools offer better academic facilities,” or “parents/guardian advised against attending USAFA.”
These and most of the remaining options are akin to the question “Have you stopped beating your wife? Yes or no?” I reached out to admissions and asked for guidance because none of these responses reflect the true reason for declining the offer. There is no option to select “other” and just fill in the reason.
Yes, I understand that the official stance of accepting/declining USAFA summer seminar has no bearing on one’s application. Regardless, it does give one pause and could argue that there is an integrity issue in that none of the available options to decline are not the true reason.
We have not received any info on payment either. All the registration has been completed except for that.Is everyone still waiting for information regarding payment? DS eagerly accepted and filled out everything, but still nothing on payment.
My DS has the same issue for the exact same reason. He is still very interested in applying to USAFA and does not feel comfortable with any of the answer options given. ;and,Will I get to select which session I want to attend?
If you are selected, there will be a follow-up email requesting your preference. Our registration team does its best to meet student preferences, but there is no guarantee.
There was no follow-up email requesting a preferred session for us. We've attempted to communicate with them about swapping via the contact information provided, but there've been no replies so far.Can I swap Summer Seminar sessions once accepted?
It is not guaranteed, but if there is another student who is willing to do a one-for-one swap between sessions, it may be considered if resources can support the change.
