Well, no one's made this yet. Being how I am so dedicated to public service I have gone through the hard work of opening this thread. I have already emailed admissions updating them of this incredibly important milestone.
Jokes aside (not for long), I just had my last nomination interview this morning and it's officially just one last wait. Having done this twice before, for the first timers applying to the Academy, do not let it dominate your life. I have had a wonderful time in AFROTC and done very well academically as an engineer, in my military training halfway through my time as a Cadet Third Class, and in making bonds so close to my wingmen I didn't previously know were possible. I will be close with these cadets for the rest of my life. There are worlds of opportunities out there in all three commissioning programs- you get out of it what you put in.
While I feel that the Academy is where I belong, and that I am an odd enough animal that I belong in a zoo for four years, I know that if this decision is made permanently for me, I will be in great company and still have a chance to serve my country in the world's greatest Air Force.
For those who don't recall, this thread is for general comments/questions/concerns so the appointment thread or the forum do not get clogged with simple questions that can be quickly answered in a conversation rather than starting a new thread. Feel free to put anything relevant in here.
Third time's the charm. Beat Army. Sink Navy. Almost Friday.
